Posted December 21, 200717 yr I'm thinking about doing an IB set-up for space reasons. What can I expect sound-wise when compared to sealed and ported enclosures?
December 21, 200717 yr Less power handling, less output, flatter response and lower playing capability.Warning it is by far the most difficult of all installs to do correctly.
December 21, 200717 yr Author the trunk just has to be completely sealed from the cabin correct?you make it sound pretty bad. the low power/output isn't a problem. are there any advantages besides space savings?
December 21, 200717 yr There are no negatives. You must have only read the first two comments, the second two are sweet! Best alignment you can have in my opinion but I am far from a basshead. As for the install difficulties, I just wanted to be sure you knew what you were biting off as it isn't easy to seal off the trunk from the cabin.
December 21, 200717 yr Author i got the flat response, but was kind of lost on the "lower playing capabilities". i guess you meant capable of playing lower frequencies.*edit* i know you're not a fan of my 5.1 set-up but, personal feelings aside, would you agree that ib would be a good match?
