Posted December 22, 200717 yr Ok, I finally got around to building my box for my 12" BTL and I got it all installed and when I went to set the gain on my Orion 2500d. I was only reading around 5.0 volts on my Multimeter I had it set to 200 AC. I was supposed to set it to 50 but, I'm getting no where near that, with the gain set full it only goes up to around 33 volts. Any Ideas as to what it could be, I opened up the bottom didn't see anything burned or fired, so I have no idea.
December 22, 200717 yr Author It sits at 13.7-13.5, I've got a 180 EA Alt. with a yellow top under the hood. I also have a 1800 Kinetik battery in my room waiting for more 0/1 wire.
December 23, 200717 yr not knowing what HU you use but the only thing i can think of is the your pre-amp output voltage is turned down.

December 23, 200717 yr is this the first time using an amp on that HU? since you have a pioneer i do have a feeling that the pre-amp voltage is down.while having a cd playing go into the audio settings. look for something that says FM Level/SLA/AUX, i can't say what it really is on that model but if you find something similar turn it up.at first with my HU i very similar problem of getting really low output with my gains being super high. after tinkering and tinkering i found that the setting mentioned is what controls the voltage output for the pre-amps. on mine it goes up to 4, which sends out it's 4volt pre-amp output.
December 23, 200717 yr Author No, it's not the first time, I'll have too try looking for that option tomorrow. When I put it back in my car, I got paranoid and took it out. I don't have my alarm yet, and I've been broken into before. Edited December 23, 200717 yr by patented17
