im thinking about buying a new alt.

i talk to a guy at the chevy dealership and he said that a 160 amp alt would be plenty to run 2 batts and draw of around 240 amps on 1 of the batteries.

im wondering that if i get a 160 would it be good and how long it would last.

its about 50 bucks cheaper than the 200 amp one.

kinda on a budget.

For 50 more you can get 40 more amps. That aint half bad.

the guy at the dealership said that if the amps on the alt are to many then it would fry the batteries after so long.

how true is that?

Have you ever heard of a regulator? All modern cars have them. Unless your car is a 197~ something, don't listen to him.
