I recently purchased an Alpine 9887 and can not believe the difference in the imagining that TA makes. How did I ever get along without?

It is certainly a great feature if you're unable to compensate for Inter-Aural Time Differences physically. The downside is that you can't account for issues in both seats, but it does great work if you are fortunate enough to be the driver.
