Posted February 3, 200817 yr what is the best way to set ur amps using lpf, hpf and your subsonic filer. what is the purpose of lpf and hpf. the box that i am using is sealed. the subs that i am running are kicker cvx's (1000 watt rms) and i am using hifoinics amps (2000 watt rms, i know they really rnt) and i run my subs at 1 ohm.
February 3, 200817 yr HPF = High-pass filter. This is used when connecting components to the amplifier. It cuts the bass.LPF = Low-pass filter. Used when connecting subwoofers to the amplifier and it cuts the upper frequencies.Ideally, you set the LPF as high as you can but without having the subwoofer play high enough to draw the sound stage back. between 60 and 80hz would be good place to start and tweak from there.Since you are using a sealed box, you could run without a subsonic filter, but just to be safe, set it around 20-25hz Hope it helps.
