Posted February 12, 200817 yr A month ago i went to a friend and i metered my car with a termlab. The number is impressive!139.9 at 39Hz!! I didn't expect so much! Here is the foto: The box:ar: nissan sunny '89 sedan 4Dno electric upgradessub: alpine typer 1222dbox: 2cf at 32Hzamp: sinus sla 1500 (1500w - 1ohm)HU: alpine 9812rbengine on at 2000rpm, doors windows closed, sensor on the dash
February 13, 200817 yr Author Yes it's very good score at low Hz, but this is with around 1.2-1.3Kw (the voltage during the burp was at 12.6v). This is too much for a typer...Maybe i'll try to build a box at higher tuning freq and perhaps i will see even higher numbers... Edited February 13, 200817 yr by tasos
February 14, 200817 yr A type R can take 2000 watts rms for a burp. I played 10,20,and 30Hz test tones on my Type R for 3 minutes, a full minute of each with 1200 wattsI was trying to blow it. All I got was a little smell. This was in a transmission line enclosure also so the only thing controlling the cone was the air mass in the line and the suspensions Edited February 14, 200817 yr by aznboi3644
May 24, 200817 yr Author A week ago i built another box for my Alpine in order to do over 140dbs.The box i built is 2cf at 37Hz and yes i did 140.4db at 42Hz!
May 26, 200817 yr Nice. I assume thats with he same amount of power? Hows the sq with the new box compared to the 32hz box?
May 26, 200817 yr Author With the 32Hz box the Alpine hits the lows much better, in the higher freq is ok and has very nice sq.With the 37Hz box the sq isn't that good. It hits much harder the higher freq, but in the very lows is just ok.Bettwen 32 and 37Hz box, i prefer the 32. The 37Hz bix is generally more boomy.I'll try a box at 34Hz. Maybe it will be the perfect for me.
September 16, 200816 yr Author Two days ago, i built a new box 2.18cf@33Hz and i did 141.0db @ 42Hz !http://img227.imageshack.us/my.php?image=42hzue2.jpgI'm very satisfied with the result Edited September 16, 200816 yr by tasos
