i have a 10" RL-i D4 on the way, now i'm trying to choose and amp.

goals were...

1: no more than $250 with shipping tacked on. would like to make it less if i could, but if the choice means paying that much than so be it.

2: a minimum of 500rms at 2ohm.

sub will be in a optimum recommend size sealed box which i believe was .65 cu.ft.

i have done lot of searching and reading reviews and posts with people giving their opinions, not only here, but other places. i have it down to these choices.

Cadence TXA-1000D

Hifonics TXi 7506

Phoenix Gold R8.0:1

Phoenix Gold Ryval V8001

Infinity REF611A

Alpine MRP-M650

again, cheaper would be better, but from what i remember of Phoenix Gold back in the days it was so so stuff. the Cadence, Hifonics and Alpine seem to get the best rep. what do you guys think. help an old guy out. :)

My best roccomendations is to look on eBay for Crossfire, PPI, Kicker, and the other brands you have listed here.

Also look at Sundown. Especially in the discount section on here.

thanks, but i'm not much of an ebay buyer. i get too paranoid about getting shafted. i've bought from there in the past and both times i had issues, got what i won, but it was a fight. i'll give a look though, who knows, maybe i'll bite. the other thing, and this is going to sound stupid, but i hate the look of the Kicker amps. i know it's not something to be thinking about, but i think they are just awful looking.

The Alpine is probably the best in your list.

This would work as well:

If that Infinity (I can't remember which series) are the ones made by JBL, I'd say it is a good choice as well. If not, I'd look either for the JBL or the knockoff.

I can't say that I am a Hifonics or Cadence fan these days at all.

btw, sorry, it know it doesn't make sense to ask opinions, then a couple posts later buy something. i started seeing a lot of people ginving opinions in other places and i couldn't find a bad word to say, so i hit ebay and BAM. can't wait to hear the RL-i with it.
