I have an 06 impala and plan on installing my head unit in the next few days... I was wondering if anyone knew if it would hurt to hook my deck up without using the door chime box with the stage 2 harness. I have a bad habit of not wearing my seatbelt and do not want to listen to my car beep over and over again when im not buckled in  . Does anyone know if it would hurt anything to just wire up the harness and cut the chime box plug off (or just leave it unhooked) when I install my stereo?

I believe that harness controls other things as well as the door chime harness. I know the older models had airbag control as well.

I wouldn't chance it. Do it right the first time.

And depending on which class 2 harness you get some either have an external chime, or the Scosche GMLAN2SR will allow you to change the volume of your chime using the dimmer switch on your dash. As far as not using a class 2 harness you will run into some minor issues. Depending on the platform you lose door chimes/dummy lights/keyless entry programming/dome lights. You do not have a 12v switched wire in your harness as it is computer controlled as well.

well i will ask politely to break that habit sir. because you could die. :madrofl:

I'm with Flakko on this one you should wear a pucking seat belt.
