anybody ever buy a refurbished TV? In particular an LCD? I'm looking to pick up a fairly inexpensive 37" LCD and found some good deals on refurbished ones. They seem to carry full warranties, but this is an investment I want to last for a few years.

I'd check them very carefully for dead pixels.

I have the same opinion of Newegg as well. they are usually reasonably priced as well. But my I suggest going to the manufacturers site and looking around there are many with refurbs on the manufac. site as well. You cant beat that and they come with a partial warranty as well.
