Posted February 25, 200817 yr Yo,I have an older model 12" magnum sitting around, and i would like to put her to use in my stereo setup at home.however currently up front i have hybrid audio L4's playing from 16k to 180ish, then 8" DLS subs taking over from 180 down to around 40/50hz!so i'm looking for an enclosure that goes low, really god damn low, 20hz would be nice.i have a 1200w amp on it's way, so it will have plenty of power! space isn't really an issue aswell.Tried running the ts params through BBP but i can't seem to get the F3 below 38hz, which is a little lame and i enjoy woodwork, so if it involves a complicated design, than i shall build a complicated design.Ta very muchTim
February 25, 200817 yr Could do Infinite Baffle if you have the space... otherwise a transmission line enclosure or a Simple sealed enclosure will get you to your 20hz mark.
February 26, 200817 yr Your best bet is a TL, like John said, or to tune it to 27 Hz in 2.5 - 2.8 cubes. The 12" Mag wasn't designed to play to 20 Hz flat in a home environment. That's where the 15" Mag's come into play - they will play wickedly low for HT use. Which version do you have? If you have the claw version (it literally says "Magnum" on the dustcap), your tuning is going to be limited to the 30's, not the high 20's like the last generations.
