I am looking into the possible carrer of building speakers and audio equipment. Nick, Jake, Where did you guys go to school after high school to learn how to do all this audio greatness. I dont have a clue where to start looking. I think maybe electrical engineering, but maybe there is a specialty school or something. Let me know anything would be appreciated. :D

Thanks, Steve

i'm sure if u look in a car audio book or got o google and type in car audio specialist school or something you would come up wt somethin, me on the other hand yes sir goin into Electrical engineering technology, i just wanna make amps :D

Major in EE...then jump on over to Acoustics Engineering...

well in ee ur taking alot more math classes, in eet u take more hands on classes.

they both start off the same so i still have time to change my mind.

CSU has an acoustical engineering program. you will also need eet.

PS: not sure why this was in the SI forum. Moved to General Car Audio.

I believe the University of Conneticuit Hartford has what u may want and thats a Degree in Acoustical engineering. The description even says it does go for designing speakers.

im a dual major physics and EE at RPI in NY... hopefully i will get my masters in acoustical eng.

i had pretty much the same plan i hope it works out for all you guys who want to get into it... but its damn hard i wont lie

i already built a couple amps in studios modeled after the late great rf bd1000's... but mine were only capable of around 150 watts :-(

first try... not that bad
