bought it off sonicelectronix.com the website not the ebay store and everything works fine, the only thing i'm having an issue with is the fact that a week ago the dvd player showed video while the car was in park and now with the parking brake applied and the emergency brake, it still says "audio only" i'm thinkin theres a loose connection somewhere, worst case scenario i hope it's not the head unit itself.

any advice?

Probably a loose connection like you suspected. You should check those first to rule out all the easy stuff.
