Posted March 19, 200817 yr has anyone ever tried this? http://www.zzperformance.com/grand_am/prod...8&catid=145 looks promising if it works like they claim. i don't have voltage drop just wondering if it actually helps.
March 20, 200817 yr Looks like a peice of plastic, there is no detail of what's involved. Buy it and let us know though, I could always use some more voltage...
March 23, 200817 yr looks like a little piece of plastic that overrides the internal voltage regulator of your alternator.
March 23, 200817 yr not sure if overides the correct word... more like tricks assuming it works. Sorta reminds me of the "preformance chips" that fool the maf and drop all the fuel it can in your engine but it doesnt really make power and after a week or so the maf figures out whats going on
April 17, 200817 yr It's just a diode. Basically what it's doing is tricking the ECU that the alternator isn't putting out enough voltage so the ECU tells the alternator to output .6V more (.6V is a typical voltage drop across a diode).
