Posted March 23, 200817 yr i currently have 3 JL 10w0's in a sealed box running of an infinity amp that puts out 600rms @ 2ohms. Im frustrated with the wimpy bass im getting from the JL's. I found a great deal on a MJ 18 4 ohm. I would plan on putting the mj in a ported box and i was wondering if the MJ would increase my output with the same amp?
March 28, 200817 yr Well the MJ18 has more cone area than 3x10's, and it also has more excursion than those w0's have as well.It will do pretty well in a ported box with 300-400 watts RMS pushing it.
March 28, 200817 yr Indeed. Don't give up on what you have until you've looked over all options. Try them ported to see what they can do for you. If they still suck, then look onward...
