Posted March 26, 200817 yr I have a unit I bought a couple years ago that I'm going to try and do a warranty exchange on. I think I paid a little over $200 for it. I could add another $200 on top of that, so $400 total. What does BB sell that is actually good?High voltage outputs (at least 4v) and ipod connection are extremely important. March 26, 200817 yr High voltage outputs are overrated.Since you're concerned about the Ipod connection, I'd buy based on that...how well/easy it is to use, etc.

March 26, 200817 yr Author I was under the assumption that higher voltage outputs required less gain on my amp for the same level of output. Was I making an ass for myself for thinking that?
March 26, 200817 yr Gain position on the amp is irrelevant as long as you're out of the clipping threshold and you don't have inductive noise issues. What higher voltage preouts gets you is a higher noise floor, so it might help if you're getting noise in your interconnects, but if you don't have noise there to begin with it's getting you nothing.
March 26, 200817 yr most newer pioneers and alpine radio's are good for ipod. Edited March 26, 200817 yr by jdawgg22
March 26, 200817 yr Author Wow, thanks. I never knew that about th ground noise. That helps a lot.I'll check out the Pioneers and Alpines today.
