what are your guys top picks for covering your boxes?? I've seen a lot of people using like...truck liner spray. Is this easy to do? or what are your tricks for carpeting a box? Favorite places to buy the carpet?

i'm mainly more itnerested in the truck liner idea. I like the idea that it gives, but i've only seen the more professional areas do it. How hard is it for an average box builder?

They make a trunk bed coating product in a spray can that's as easy to apply as spray paint. I've used it on a few boxes, covers imperfections well.

I don't know the cost of getting it done, but if you have a Rhinoliner dealer near you that may be an option. After seeing some enclosures over on Forceaudio that were done that way, it seems a heck of a lot better than a spray-can job.

Or maybe there's a way to apply it with a spray gun and compressor, I'm not sure of the specs they use, though...

Fleckstone paint can also look very nice and is pretty forgiving on surface prep, plus a decent variety of colors. I've done a few and they came out VERY nice...

well i've seen the spray cans at like fleet farm and around but I just wasn't sure how they'd turn out

I guess maybe its time to pick up a can and find an old box i dont really use much and see just how they turn out!

I did this with fleckstone in a can. After this pick I did about five more coats...around 8 cans total. Looks good just be prepared to use alot ot get it even

I've seen it in cans you put on with a roller too but have no idea how it looks. You might use less if you seal the wood with something first, like paint or resin/whatever. I have done that and used stone guard in a spray can but it is smoother than bedliner. I know a guy that used bedliner cans on a trailblazer, he only did the bottom 4" or so and used about 30 cans IIRC of the good 3M stuff. You can spray the stone guard with a cheezy air gun that a qt can screws onto. It will texture like bedliner though maybe not as thick but should work fine on mdf. You can paint it or maybe tint it, it is very dull if bare and made to paint. Can thin it to texture you want, and that gun lays it on in a hurry don't run it. Need a compressor for that.

I covered my box in black suede and it looks TIGHT

If you have the know how and the time, fiberglass and paint are the way to go.

Laminate sheets

I just use 3 layers of paint when i build them.

The last layer, i use custom stencils and draw images with flourescent paint so they glow at night if you have a UV light close by.
