Posted April 2, 200817 yr I have been reading and I haven't found a post that is exactly what I'm looking for. I have just been introduced to all these different sub woofer lines that I have never heard or seen before. And I need some opinions from people who have had experience with any woofers. I'm looking for a single setup with no more than 1500 watts. I wont say that I want sound quality since everyone has a their own definition of quality. I am looking for a very deep bass. The kind that you feel. I don't like punchy bass. Very smooth transient response is what I look for the most. And most important is a very crisp sound. I don't know if any of these wants can all be achieved at the same time but I appreciate any input. I'm not looking to spend any more than $350 on the sub. But of course worst comes to worst I can spend a few more. I have a Rockfod Fosgate T10001bd which puts out 1000 watts at 1 ohm. I have around maybe 5 cubes to work with. April 2, 200817 yr -$350 single sub- 5 cubes15"...A.A. Havoc, SSA ICON, Fi BL, in a horn loaded enclosure designed by Pete @ Hexibase.comhavocs go low, get loud and sound good.so do the Icon's.the BL's might handle a little more power, more spl oriented mind you, but still a good sounding sub.I don't think you would be disappointed with any of the above subs.but, in the end....its all about the box, and I love mine from Pete.
April 2, 200817 yr Very deep, very smooth, sounds like sealed to me. I wouldn't hesitate to run an Icon that way. What sort of front stage are you going to integrate it with?
April 2, 200817 yr Author Very deep, very smooth, sounds like sealed to me. I wouldn't hesitate to run an Icon that way. What sort of front stage are you going to integrate it with?I'm not looking at doing anything to my front. Its stock but it sounds ok. On my next car I'm going all out and upgrading everything but for the car I have now, I just want a little bass to keep me going. I guess the AA Havoc. Fi Q. or the SSA Icon in a sealed box. I have room to go with 2 15's on anything. Why does the AA Havoc say the recommended sealed box spec as 1.8-lB. What does that mean?
