Posted April 2, 200817 yr Trying to finish up the installation of two Havoc 15's in my truck, things didn't go too well as I had to mount and then dismount the subs 4 times till things finally fit right in the box and then in my truck. On the last time I accidentally dropped the screwdriver as I was screwing it in and the handle fell in, onto the full cone-sized dustcover cap creating a 3/4" long crack and wrecking my mood for the rest of the install.I'll post pics when I get over it, or drink enough not to care about material things anymore. In the meantime, is there anything I should/can do about this?
April 2, 200817 yr If it's simply a crack you can use CA glue or super glue to "weld" it back together. Pay attention to the endings of the crack, as you don't want it to spread past that point.
April 2, 200817 yr Author dont say thatttt! It's just a dustcap, no? No way to pull it out and glue in a new one? It's definitely just a crack so far, barely noticeable now just wait till I get it glued up though. It was so sexy and clean
April 2, 200817 yr damn dude that really sucks, hopefully it wont be too noticeable they are really nice looking subs

April 2, 200817 yr Author They're both sharing an SAE-1000D now, and 2-ohms at that so 500 to the pair! Obviously they want a lot more power.I picked up 13' of 1/0 welding cable today so I can install my second SAE-1000D tomorrow, then strap them. Then I'll have 1800W to throw at them, in a large sealed box. It's getting a bit tiring lately, I think I've spent more time in my (parked) truck than in my bed. And of course there's no real end in sight, now I have lots of tuning to do. I'm somewhat glad I didn't take on the project of the much larger ported box, sealed barely fits!
April 2, 200817 yr ya unfortunatly the havocs do require a lot of space, my ported box for my one 15 will have like 6 cubic ft. i just have to be careful with the screwgun when im puttin it in...
April 3, 200817 yr Author I managed to repair the cracked sub with CA glue today. Unfortunately the little crack is now more apparent because of the white hazing around the glue, it seems to be a strong hold and isn't splitting further. In other news, I looked at my second (perfect) sub and noticed the dust cap is actually peeling OFF in some areas, as in the glue is de-laminating. I don't know whats up with that, but I'll see if it gets worse. Will post pics tomorrow
April 3, 200817 yr damn dude that sucks ur not having the best of luck with ur havocs, if its a defect im sure the guys at FI will be able to help u.
April 3, 200817 yr Author Thats before gluing. Small but a crack nonetheless. I can't get a good picture of the dustcover de-lamination from the other sub. I'll try a better camera.
