October 1, 200420 yr You know, I'm pretty sure the Mag 15 doesnt have a mounting depth of 15" LOL I think you will be fine without an angle.
October 1, 200420 yr Author heh lol i didnt mean mounting depth, i meant i only have 15 1/2 inches of hieght in my trunk, and a 15" woofer has a 15" cone....i dont know maybe i dont know what im talking about...(proabably)
October 8, 200420 yr Can you post a photo of your trunk for me please? Also, On your measurements, are you considering the space between the shock towers the length or width?
October 9, 200420 yr Author yea ill get you a picture, but my cars in the shop so i have to wait until i get it back.i have another question, my friend came across 2 12" woofers im not sure who makes them, there called "church", thats all thats on it...anyone have any idea who makes them, or if theyere any good?
October 13, 200420 yr hey, before you get started, I will tell you that my car has almost the exact same dimensions as your car (I have a '91 olds cutlass supreme, so same body style), and while yes there is a lot of room in the trunk, getting the box through the hole to the trunk restricts you.I had the same worry about the 15 1/2 height, but I came out fine.the box for my 15D2 is 3.8 cubes tuned to 30 hz. I can give you the dimensions if you want and you can build a similar design. I'll tell you that you won't be able to get much more than 3.8 cubes unless you tune higher than 30 hz so the port doesn't displace so much (or else just use less port area than I did.)
October 14, 200420 yr oh yes it gets loud. fairly ridiculous. I think it gets louder than my old setup with 4 ED 12K's sealed. At least it sounds louder. Haven't really had it metered, though. But it tickles, and thumps your chest like I've never felt before. If it didn't give me a headache I might listen to it loud all the time cuz it's just like, aaaahhhhhhhhhh.....
October 14, 200420 yr Author hmmm, that sounds very good, i would be very happy if you sent me the dimensions and all...that would be very helpful, and LOUD is what i want and that box gets LOUD so i think it will all work out just fine
October 15, 200420 yr 37" long X 18" wide X 15.5" tall.Port is 14" tall X 3" wide X 27.5" long.this is a 3.8 cube box tuned to 30 hz.
October 25, 200420 yr Author hmmm quick question...how do you have the port in the box, instead of having it 37 long, im going to have it 37 wide so ill need the port at a different angle...i dont know what im talking about but i have the idea in my head and i dont know how to do it...
October 25, 200420 yr A width of 37" is not going to be very feasible. First of all, with that width, you'd had to have quite a bit of height to get a decent vent area ratio, which you are severly overdoing. Also, with that huge area comes a LONG vent to make a decent tune.
