so i got:

optima yellowtop under the hood

kinetik hc2400 on the back

iraggi 240/165 amp alternator

it was running fine for about a week since i installed it,

my voltages were:

14.2@idle, 13.4v w/ engine off

this morning it was running fine too

so when i was leaving this afternoon, i noticed the battery gauge was pretty low

i checked the voltage and it was only 12.7 while the car is idling and system is off

so i turned my car off and checked the voltage, it was 12.8

so i disconnected my powerwire that runs to the back battery and the amps

after about half hour driving

i checked the voltage, while idle it was 12.3

when it was off it was 12.5

what do you guys think? did my alternator died?

i checked all the wire connections and it seems that its good

check all the negative wires again if thats not it I would bring your vehicle to a mechanic and have him check out your alternator.

vato zone or your local part house can check it for free...... imo 13.4 is very good for being off.. and 14.2 is right fo running.... it could be alot of things... check the amp u first... to me it sounds like the voltage regulater or the dioeds.. its still charging just not correctly

if u take it to auto zone, do NOT let them disconnect your power wire to your batt from alt while car is running.

OH and one more thing, have you ever checked the voltage your alt puts out when above idle?

Kinetik's do NOT like anything out of the range of 14.0-14.4v

you should be using powermasters with that alt anyway i talked to dominick on the phone and he said that he has nothing but problems with the kinetik batts and his alts he told me to use powermaster wile running his alts that could be your prob :)

check the fuses maybe your alternator is not getting power

Last time I checked, powermasters and kinetics charged the same way. Add current.

I know quite a few people who have had nothing but trouble from Iraggi Alts. I would assume its toast.
