Hey guys, been lurking for a while now (on CA.com, DIYMA and ROE more). I thought I registered but guess not. Anyway I bought this AX 5600 BNIB, I believe it is a 2006 model. Upon arrival I noticed that the Xovers were 50-500 for the sub channel, 50-500 for the "Front" 2ch and the "Rear" were able to be bandpassed from 50-500 and 200-5k. I have an Alpine CDA-9835 HU and CDT ES-6 mids and DRT-25 tweeters and a single 12" SS RL-p in a 2 cube box tuned to 32hz. I want to run the comps active off this amp. Now I'm stumped why the "Front" channel Xover is 50-500hz. Please tell me I have a fluke amp that has a typo and that really should be a say, 2000-20000hz HP filter....? Or is it possible that I can just use the Xovers on the 9835 to bypass the filters on the amp, since there is no visible switch on the amp to turn the Xover filters off? If I did so, I would connect the RCAs from the "Front" output of the 9835 (tweeter output when running 3-way) to the Front inputs on the amp, and set the Xover on the amp to 500, then set the Xover on the HU to wherever I want it (CDT told me to try starting out at 3000) and everything should be good? Sorry for the long read and thanks for looking.

BTW, I have been running the comps passive off the Front channels and the sub for a while now, but I've been wanting to go active for a LONG time. I just ran all my tweeter and mid speaker wire and new RCAs today, along with my hidden antenna to get rid of the fricken mast that comes stock on the Mustangs. I really hope that I didn't jump the gun and that this amp can work out the way I want it. It seems that this amp was set up more for someone wanting to run their midbass, midrange and sub off of it (with a separate tweet amp), instead of a tweeter, mid and sub set up with the Xover filters provided...Or probably more likely, run a set of comps passive off the Front and then a set of mids for rear fill...I hope you guys can help me figure it out.

BTW, I have been running the comps passive off the Front channels and the sub for a while now, but I've been wanting to go active for a LONG time. I just ran all my tweeter and mid speaker wire and new RCAs today, along with my hidden antenna to get rid of the fricken mast that comes stock on the Mustangs. I really hope that I didn't jump the gun and that this amp can work out the way I want it. It seems that this amp was set up more for someone wanting to run their midbass, midrange and sub off of it (with a separate tweet amp), instead of a tweeter, mid and sub set up with the Xover filters provided...Or probably more likely, run a set of comps passive off the Front and then a set of mids for rear fill...I hope you guys can help me figure it out. Thanks again...

while i am not a fan of the x-overs on the amp it does give you some flexibility if you have some type of processing on your HU. i have the AXTU4360 and i use an RF 360.2 for all my processing. i am not familiar with your HU, but if you have processing on board then you are in business. you can use the amps x-over for bandpass on the mids.

I guess a Mod merged my two threads..and I can't edit my original posts. Oh well. Anyways, it wasn't the mids I was worried about as I understand how to bandpass them with the Xovers on the amp OR the HU. It is the tweeters I am worried about since the Front channels Xover points are from 50-500hz, but this amp has a switch on it to be usable in a 3-way active set-up. I don't understand HOW with those crossover points...

Why aren't you using your h/u for the tweeters crossover anyways??
