Posted May 27, 200817 yr Hello. I need help selecting an amp for a Cerwin Vega 12" Stoker. My budget is $500. I had my eyes set on a Hifonics XXV- Colossus. Supposedly it's rated 1x3200@ 2-Ohms, which sounds like more than enough to power a stroker efficiently, but after some reading in this forum, the brand now sounds like borderline garbage. I also hear that this speaker requires a very large custom box, or is that also a myth? I have a 99 Crown Vic, so space is no object. Is there anyone here that builds them, or online? If not can anyone help me with specs to take to a local audio shop? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
May 27, 200817 yr Author get 2 AQ1200ds.strapped @2ohms = 2,940w.Price - $498 + shipping. You got a link shizzzon? I am not familiar at all with what you're referencing. Also, I'm sort of building a "budget" system. I would rather stick to a single amp for sub, and a 4 channel for hi's. 3 amps will kick up parts and labor something awful.
May 27, 200817 yr oops, i mean that $498 is final, there is no additional shipping charge.Just go to www.audioque.com
May 27, 200817 yr Author Thanks for the help, but what's so good about this brand? Are you running these amps? I have never heard of them....Not saying that doesn't make them good, I'm just curious as to what they're about. I have seen them mentioned many times around here, but.....
