please someone tell me so i can tell my friend alpine Type R is not the best thing around!!! he said he hear 2 12s ported runing off the 1000rms alpine amp. srry forgot the model #.

a list of sub(s) that can beat them in sq and spl in the same price range would shut him up or atleast change his mind alittle....

it depends in what vehicle it was in too.

the amp is hella expensive because it outputs same power over various loads.

But the subs are cheap prices for what they can do.

He could have saved a lot of money and went with another amp but besides that, i bet i can get type-rs loud.

they are just cheap priced.

Me, personally, i wouldnt run them because they can't handle large loads of power but that's the only reason.

he heard them in a wrx i think. im sure they sounded ok but i would think something like a ssa icon would sound alot better and and be close in spl as well....

Why are you trying to convince him there not good subs. They are great SPL subs for a cheap price. Yes there are alot of subs that are better, but for budget boom the type r are great.

but nothing compares to the Funky Pup's

I'm not trying to get off topic but I'm sorry......are funky pup's any good or is this a running joke on here? Because I'm ignorant to them but I've seen them being referred to a few times here.

Funky Pups are the car audio world's humor of the decade.

Weird name for a sub and are nothing special. They "might" handle 200w, they look like older style home audio subs in a cabinet really. Far from anything special.
