After I get my system Im gonna need a BAD A$$ alarm cause GOD knows I dont have enough cash saved up to buy my system all over again. I would also like it if had auto-start. Any suggestion? :puzzled:

I like the Compustar personally.

However Viper and Clifford offer up some great solutions.

Definately get something with 2-way communication.

You have the option to add power locks for about 100$ a door. Or you would still use your key to lock/unlock you door. I did it the latter way.

after you get your alarm, get full or near full bulletproof glass to prevent immediate break-ins.

make sure you have tilt, internal proximity, extra battery backup siren(s) on the outside, internal Peizo sirens on the inside and exterior sirens also inside of the vehicle.

Make sure your alarm pages you and if absolutely necessary, get GPS tracking but that may be unnecessary as long as you have a good immobilizer.

You can get solenoids for pretty cheap. But quality ones are gonna cost you. I have an 86 single cab f150 and i had an alarm put it with door solenoids. cost me about $200 for the install. They charged me 30 for each door.

Agree with you on this part, but there is a film that he could put over his window that could do the same thing as shatterproof glass. Good stuff seen it put on windows on "It takes a theif" thinking about putting it onto my car.

i know, i have all this on my car :)

My other site,S10forum.com, told me to get a door shaving kit cause they use a geared door lock actuator instead of a solenoids. Does anybody else agree? :puzzled:

Do you have maunal or power locks?

Depending on which you have will depend on how you get keyless entry.

If you have power locks, you're set no need to add anything except maybe 2 relays.

If you dont have power locks, I'd suggest a pair of door lock actuators (1per door)

as they have the ablity to lock and unlock the doors.

Simple solenoids only work in one direction (Door poppers for example)

Where I work we charge $75/door (CDN) and that includes the actuator and the relays.

Hope this helps

I have manual locks and thats what I was told on my other site. So probably like 75 bux per door + the cost of the alarm.

dont know why autopage isnt liked but i truly enjoy and trust my rs-1000

Got the Viper 5900 installed w/o remote start but with glass break and piezo siren for about $610 from the best shop on the island. Supposed 1 mile range, but cement cuts that down considerably. Still pretty impressive though. That piezo siren is damn loud. >_<
