So I want to put 2 kicker 12" L7's in 1998 ford ranger reg cab. Now this is my first time and I've seen it done but don't know how they did it. Last resort would be cutting through the back. Any other ideas from any of you?

I have put over a dozen different set-ups in my reg cab ranger, the latest one being a 10'' Fi bl over this past weekend. The one 10 ported gets louder than 2-12's sealed that I've had in there before. Trust me when I say this, it is all in the box. You will not, and I repeat will not, be able to fit two 12'' L7s in there unless you do a blowthrough. I had two 10'' L7s in there and they sounded absolutely horrible because I didn't have enough airspace. Just pick one 10 ported or one 12 sealed and put it in the proper box and youll be impressed. Go to "build logs" and check out "regular cab ranger build."

Like I said on CA.com, you're either gonna have to be really short so you can slide the seat ALL the way forward or you have to cut. I had 6 10s in a reg cab Ranger many years ago and it took a LOT of cutting. Basically gave up the front 18" of my bed.

Ok so I do that and add what a toolbox back there to cover it up?

You'd have to hack the toolbox up pretty good to get that to work, but that could be an option. I just had a tonneau cover and that took care of hiding it.

Another option is to wait until the Stereo Integrity BM subs come out. They should fit behind the seat no problem. They won't be as loud as the L7s but they'll sound night and day better and should have pretty good output, especially considering that they're only 3.5" deep and only need a half cubic foot or airspace to work optimally.

am i the only one that gets nervous about cutting a hole in the back of their truck? lol, well i guess if you plan on never selling it, but i dont think i could get myself to do it

Yea I don't plan on selling it. I don't have a toolbox yet, but I was thinking of putting it on there, or using the button down rubber cover. I was only gonna have my brother make a fake toolbox to cover the cuts.

you can get a topper... and just remove the back glass and get the rubber kit.. then you can do what ever you want to and you can do what ever you want!

and then if you still wanna have a truck bed for tools or what ever you can false wall it i hope this covays conveys?

My truck was also about 10yrs old when I got it cut up. Wouldn't dream of doing that with my new truck.

There's still not a firm date on the BMs as far as I know. I'm waiting for them for my truck, I'm about 99% sure, though.

So I changed my mind...

I decided that I'm gonna put them in a ford taurus. 2 12 l7s, Now since I'm dumb and don't know anything should I get 2-ohm or 4-ohm? And what amp works best with them. Any other advice would be appreciated.
