Ok I have a basket out of a 12 and a motor out of a 10 I wont to use together to make it a way better 12 then get it reconed. I was able to unbolt the motor for the 12 but I still can

ok got the bolts out of the 10 and cant get the motor off anyways. any one have any ideas or is there some top secret way there held on?

Besides bolts, there is usually a bead of glue holding the motor to the basket. When I rebuilt a TC Sounds sub, I had the same problem. I just used a thin blade screw driver like a chisel and tapped the seam between the motor and the basket. About the 4th tap, the screwdriver went into the seam and I was able to pry the two pieces apart.

I don't know what the 10" basket is.

Unless you really care about the cosmetics being perfect:

1) Get large flathead screwdriver

2) Set woofer down and grab the farside of the basket

3) Put screwdriver between frame and motor

4) Push down on the screwdriver like a lever until you hear a pop.

Do it quick and hard and you wont even leave much of a mark on aluminum baskets. I do it all the time.

you might have a easier time getting a recone if you just buy a standard 12 spoke basket with the recone.

i don't know but the 12" basket you have may not have standard spider, and surround landing heights.
