Besides the obvious, what is the difference between front fire and down fire enclosures? Is it just a prefrence issue or is there a sound quality difference?

    just kinda depends on the application of the subwoofer use. You can't forget upfiring as well. Typically it just has to do with what fits the room/car enviroment best. Typically upfiring has been seen a lot in SUV's, front/rear firing in trunk vehicles, and a lot of downfiring in home theatre use as I believe

    down firing, alal xcab p/u truck, can seem to enhance lowend.

    otherwise, never really noticed an sqdifference, although a mic will tell a db difference in most cases.
