ok...

update...

bottom and back of the box were soaked all the way through

wood is definatly warped...

the cut out from the sub was a little too big. due to some bad drilling on my part i can't use all the skrew holes. due to the round basket and the extreme weight of the h2 i have a nice air leak at the top of the cutout.

conclusion...

weight till summer. get new car. get new box.

my expression... :faintthud:

expect some in the box port sometime tomorrow...

its all cool

i was planning on getting a new box anyway...

now i have an excuse...

but i mean if you wanna replace it :woot::+1::slayer::wub:

i wanted to get it ported so with 2 tones so i could plug one and then use one if i decide to compete.

which i'd like to try this year.

i believe i'm gonna need a small ported box for my new 10" 187s

i may go to the local dealer and just buy a prefabed though :ugh2:

depending on price he wants to try to rape me with

so what you think on a small box to specs 28hz? :woot:

with correctly cut baffles :ugh2:

how much volume do you think a 28 hz port will take up?

for external measurements as of now i'm looking at

h - 14

w -13

l- 34.5

thats 2.5ft^3 before sub displacement.

after 2.41

now i have to figure out how to port

and thats where i need you expert advice good sir :hay:

i wouldn't tune it to 28hz....the fs of IA 187's is right at 34hz...u tune lower then that, u won;t be hearing it anyway..i'd suggest 37hz, plenty low, whil still giving ya spl...

box is designed...

i'll go with your suggestion for 37 hz.

i'm anxious to see what you have for me

and i do wish you'd be on aim more often

i would still like to know the equation that you use to figure the tuning design.

i checked that website that tells you everything. but i couldn't find any helpful information on the subject for myself.

i'm planning on doing all the construction myself

and i'm also going to redesign a box for the h2 seeing as this one has severe water dmg and the sealent has leaked out of the bottom cornor. and i'll soon have a new car to play with for awhile.

aim is on...

i don't use a calculation..i'm too lazy... :lol2: i use bb6p...a program.....

i'll get it drawn up and sent over to ya...

sucks the h2 got water damage...but u can take it apart and see how the port is made..
