I have been waiting for quite some time to finally arrive at the point on what setup I will be using. I was considering 3 IA DP21's or 4 Jbl W15Gti. The amp I am using will be the stetsom 7KD. If I were to go with the DP's it would be in a 24-26cube enclosure at 28hz. The Jbl's would be in a 20cube enclosure at 28hz. I cannot find a DP t/s parameters to factor into the equation. I at least wanted to use the DP15 subwoofer to compare in WinIsd Pro. What do you guys think? If anyone has any t/s parameters on the DP's let me know.

Yes for now. I had a chance to see a few of them in action and talk to a couple of people that owned them. I heard a lot of good things about them from the people that own them. A lot tell me that they have not had anyproblems running them daily. One even advised me that if I wanted to run it daily and be on the safe side was to do it @2ohms. Quite a few also said that 1 ohm is fine for daily. A guy took his family car to the comp. with the babyseat and all still in it and scored 155 with mods to his stock electrical. The store that sells them which held the competition said that they sell a lot for daily usage.

So let me get this straight.. you now think it's perfectly normal to run a 7000w amplifier on a stock electrical system?

lol, good luck with that.

:wtf: Are you trying to be funny? Last time I checked it wasn't April 1st buddy.

There's also the question of whether or not it's a good/safe idea to run anywhere near that kind of power every day, but that's something else entirely :)

Man I am not doing this for the amusement. I never said I thought it was ok. I just said a guy that owned one had minor upgrades to his stock electrical. I understand you guys know a lot, but your comprehension skills suck. Pay attention or don't say nothing. I never said I was gonna run a stock electrical.

Maybe you should have mentioned that in your first post, jackass.

Don't be a dick because you forgot to mention something pertinent. So yeah... maybe you should pay attention.

What seems to be funny is that nobody can seem to reply to the topic. I just asked about the subs. Hell I know damn well what I am doing. I install systems as a hustle and as a hobby. I can understand the DP21 just came out so many people have not had the chance to witness it, but the Jbl has been in production for a minute and can discussed easily.

I did not forget it. It was not the topic so it did not apply. I did not say I was using I said a guy. There goes the comprehension again. What was stated was only done to pretty much give an idea of them being used as a daily amp. Either answer the topic question and not assume about my electrical or shut the fudge up? Again I say, Jbl W15Gti or IA DP21?

Too many factors to answer properly...the DPs have a cone area advantage, but power compression may be more of a factor with less drivers than the JBLs. Since there aren't that many 21's on the market currently, it'll be a little more unique than the W15GTI's, which are no stranger to the SPL lanes.

Thanks! That a response I can deal with. The setup being unique is why I turned my attention to the DP21's. I haven't been able to find any vids of them in action yet. The DP21's will run me about $200 more but that is not an issue. As for power concerns I do not plan to have it at full tilt all the time. Just only when I go to comps. or need to make a couple dollars through a bet.

You keep talking about reading comprehension.. dude. You didn't even have an OP question. You asked what we thought. And for the TS parameters of the DP, which no one but IA has.

Me>you. Once again.

Ok. I will just break it all down as far as the low end. I have an 89' dodge conversion van. I build systems so I decided to take it a bit further. I have welded up my own platform and removed the backseat completely. The platform is design to hold all the speakers amps and batteries while providing room underneath for my tools. I am planning on running a dual 300amp alt setup or one if I don't have room. I will be using 3 Kinetik HC2400's and a HC1400 under the hood. I may also run a cap. I will have plenty runs of 0 gauge wire. If for some strange reason I am not able to run a stetsom a couple of guys at the comp told me to go with 2 SAZ 3000D's. I also am able to a couple of refurbished viper amps. Big 3 will be done plus the platform is bolted to the floor which also has a few ground wires connected to it from the frame. Sorry, I am really insecure about grounding. I feel their is never too much. I also will have a digital bass processor just for fun. I don't plan to run any bass boost off of the amp. As for the speakers I have heard neither. That why I am asking for help. I have heard from some people lately that sundown amps are not all they claim to be. I saw the sundowns amp in action at the comp also.

What do you mean Sundown amps are not what they claim to be? What have you heard?

A couple of people. It was kind of hard deciding that I saw both in a competion and I was impressed with both. I guess things that are man made will always have problems one way or another.
