Posted September 18, 200816 yr would this paired with an Alpine iDA-X100(ipod deck) be a good match for processing if I wanted to run 2 or 3 way active? any thoughts from people who have or is currently running this eq.http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_6358_A...EQS+-GRAY-.html Edited September 18, 200816 yr by nickeveready

September 18, 200816 yr http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_13554_...ontrol+DQX.html - eq and 3 way crossover -active digitalhttp://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_7197_A...OR-+WHITE-.html -eq and 2 way xover -active analog
September 20, 200816 yr Lots of wasted bands of equalization with that processor installed after the crossover. Consider that every band below a HPF and above a LPF is not doing anything and it should quickly become apparent that there isn't a lot of use for that processor in a high end system using active processing. It has its place, but not in a 3-way active system.
September 22, 200816 yr Author so what are some good processors out there that can handle the job? as far as alpine goes the only option i have with them is the Imprint(pxa-h100) Edited September 22, 200816 yr by nickeveready
September 22, 200816 yr Author The imprint is a big joke. If you want an Alpine processor, get the H701.don't think it's compatible with the ida-x100..i really want to get that hu
September 22, 200816 yr If you want to run active and are putting in a screen up front, you should really do the H701 but yes you will need the 205/505. Time to make the choice, a nice active install or that headunit. Sure you could still buy a H701 and a RUX to control it, but that seems rather stupid considering you don't have the screen yet.
