Posted September 20, 200816 yr Hey guys Im currently out in pursuit of the rookie1 world record in Iasca IDBL format..I'm using 3 8'' mtx 5500 running them off a sundowns 1500d with a optima d34 up front.. Im limited to port area, 14 per sub so I'm basically playing with 42sq inches.. My current port is 39sq inches and Im doing a 140.1db on the audiocontrol meter.. In my class Im not allowed to use test tones so Im using tracks like 36 mafia-slob on my knob.. Is there any ideas yall could give me to bring my score up? I'm thinking of re-building my box to give each sub 1cub of space each with a solid 42 sq inches of port. Maybe try 45 degree fillers and fiberglass the inside of the box with external bracing. Double up the baffle to have a 1.5inch thick baffle??This is really my first time at competition and I'm dedicated to getting that record before my year in rookie class finishes, can y'all help me to improve my score? September 23, 200816 yr If you are using a certain song, I would do it like tuning for a straight up burp. Start with a lower tune and then start shortening your port and see if that helps.
