when you use poly fill in a box should u get the mat style or the just the plain loose poly fill? i read that the loose stuff can get up in the motor and damage it...

Normally you attach the polyfill to the box somehow, staples, glue. If done right it shouldn't damage the woofer. For mat stuff do the same thing.
