Hi, I need help with a spl box in a sedan. My car in a Acura cl 97 the seats do not let down but there is a 7 by 10 hole where the arm rest lets down. My subwoofer is a T3 audio tss 15 with one Sundown a Audio saz3000d pushing it. What is the best setup, sub firing to the back with port to the back, maybe sub firing up with port to the rear. I'm 39 years old an have been out of spl for years but I miss all the fun. I donot want to be in the way at shows so can you guys help my with a design that may work. The car will be use for spl music. Thanks for any help. :ehh:

Wel, i think it's better to have the sub firing back and the port back... Then adjust the enclosure about 5"-6" distance from the tailgate... Tune the enclosure around 40Hz to 45Hz, I've already tried it around 43Hz and it works perfectly...

Did you try the sub firing up if so how what was the db Dop off.

It depends though, right now I have 2 12" Kicker CVR's in 2.5 cubic feet with sub and port firing up into my trunk lid with my seats down. I burped a 138.7 with only 500 watts to them.

I am yet to meter it like that. That's how it was when I first got it, and I was playing with it and tried it how I have it now, and It was louder to my ears so I kept it that way.

I'm really surprised there, with 2,500 watts you should be doing better than that though.

Not really there buddy, I only have 500 watts, he has 2,500. Don't be dumb. Of course its on the low side! It's freaking entry level 12's! Damn some people are retards! There is no point in arguing over stupid chit like that, its like the Special Olympics, who cares if you win or lose, you are still retarded!

wow

seeing that you guys like to talk chit... i fart 80 DB's

so far; i have had best results with port back subs back in my trunk as well. never had the chance to try any other config cos this is the only way the box will fit in

Subs forward Big AZZ Port Forward 149.2! For my car I tried up back left right this way that way and came up with box as far pushed back as poss. port and subs forward. this was the loudest. When i tested firing back I lost 2+ DB every time. :D

looks like your trunk is sealed? if that is right; that will explain it ...no? also you test using seats up or down? good score for a trunk non the less

All testing was done without the trunk sealed. Still was loudest with port, sub forward. I compete with the seats down. Still looking for that elusive 150! LOL
