Posted October 14, 200816 yr Picked up 4 havoc 15's for my ext cab f150. Problem I have is my max width in the back is 58.5" and I want to fire up so I can't do a straight baffle and have enough surface area. I need to do an angled baffle and have come up with two ideas but wanted to throw it out to see if anybody had a preference between the two or maybe other suggestions. Max dimensions are roughly 25h x 23.5d x 58.5 longThese will be sealed:
October 14, 200816 yr man this will be insane! some crazy box designs right there, i had a friend who had 4 dd 15's in his ext cab ram1500 but his enclosure was glassed so it was all wavy looking, i think it looked like crap.
October 14, 200816 yr Author Luckily I have plenty of space, its just the surface area firing up thats limiting me. That said I won't have to resort to glassing, which is good because I would fail I'm leaning towards option 1 as that would only be two planes the woofers would be firing from...option 2 puts the woofers on 3 different planes. Not sure that matters for cancellation, and not even sure if I'll ever know unless I build/test.
October 14, 200816 yr Author why dont you go ported?3 reasons basically:I've always wanted to try a moderate sized sealed setupOut of all my setups in this truck I've enjoyed my two sealed se15's the most. (I've had two dd1508's ported, an hdc318 ported, an rlp18 ported, and a FI q15 ported in this truck, the sealed se15's were the most fun, if I can get that sound only louder I'll be happy)I can always go ported later if I decide to. Unfortunately to do so I'd have to go above the window line and since this is my daily driver I'm just not ready to do that yet.
October 14, 200816 yr do they need to be all up. you could do two up to forward with amps mounted in the middle.
October 14, 200816 yr Author do they need to be all up. you could do two up to forward with amps mounted in the middle. They don't have to be all up, figured all up would be louder, but if it comes down to it I can do two up two forward.
October 14, 200816 yr supposively in ext cabs for loudest output, subs firing back and i guess port too, its loudest, so i've been told. i cant find out if its true or not in my truck cause haha, 18" is already too big to move around.
October 14, 200816 yr with a nice rectangle shape you can make the box 49w 22d 20h that will give great lowend

If it comes out anything like my SE's the upper end will be good, but the super low end will still be good for movies in the truck Actually gives me another idea, 2 up 2 back might be an option...hrmm so many options Edited October 14, 200816 yr by duece212
October 14, 200816 yr post the build log as im curious how you're going to do this setup, what amp(s) are you going to use?
October 14, 200816 yr Author As soon as I figure out what the heck I'm doin I'll get some pics up. I have an american bass 500.1 that I'll be running at .5 on the havocs.

October 14, 200816 yr Author Why not stick with 2 sealed se15's if you enjoyed them the most ?Just because I enjoyed them the most doesn't mean I was satisfied Plus, I like to change stuff on a regular basis. Trying new stuff is part of the hobby.
October 31, 200816 yr Why not stick with 2 sealed se15's if you enjoyed them the most ?or possibly 4 se15's sealed since you want it louder....You could have all the subs firing forward, two mounted higher, and two mounted lower
