Posted October 31, 200816 yr i have 1K on two Fi BL 12 rear firing in the trunk.would putting a hole in the rear deck improve SPL?that in the cabinwill it cause problem for my 6x9 on the rear deck???what the best way to do it??Thanks Inadvance!!!!!
October 31, 200816 yr putting a hole there will most likely help with loudness, yes. What kind of problems with the 6x9s do you think might occur? the hole should actually help them because it will release a little more pressure out of the trunk, which puts pressure on the back of the rear speakers. One time a lead fell off of one of my back speakers so the motor wasn't controlling the cone anymore, and the pressure from the sub spidercracked the cone all to heck.
October 31, 200816 yr just take the 6x9s out that would get u 2 nice size holes and u could tell if its goin to help u get more spl. if it does put the 6x9s back in if u want and cut the rear deck to hell
October 31, 200816 yr i took my 5x7's out of my rear deck..... i did not notice anymore bass...... but i know my subs were giving those 5x7's hell... pushing and pulling them to thair limits!.... takem out,
October 31, 200816 yr i decide to just take out my 6x9s, because my sub keep breakin them, and i decide to use 4 4in ports to bring in the sound, kind of turnin my car into a series tuned band pass, then i tried for a new way to port it cuz i wanted some rear speakers, so i sealed in 4 6 1/2in woofers and ported throught my back seat.
November 1, 200816 yr thats nice.. what kind of sub is that in the last pic? i know its a audiopulse but what series?
November 2, 200816 yr Author My sub are firing to the rear.I Have 3.5 '' drivers in the dashwith bass blockers on them.without the 6x9,my lower midrangesound like chit,so i guest i will have't put a hole in the center of the rear deck.and leave the 6x9 in.
November 2, 200816 yr thats nice.. what kind of sub is that in the last pic? i know its a audiopulse but what series?its the Axis, i just bought a second one too, they are on sale for half off on partsexpress right now.
November 2, 200816 yr are the subs walled off in the trunk then? or just in a box firing forward?was the for me or the OP,for mine, the kickers, the boxes where shove all the way back blockin off the back seat whole, so i ported through the rear deck, but the second one, with the audiopulse the box is shoved all the way back again with the sub facin the other way, but it was a temporary box, its a little different now

Also no passengers in the back if i gotta drop the whole seat down
November 3, 200816 yr ya i see your point. im moving my amps up under the rear deck to hid them better.
