Posted November 4, 200816 yr I noticed Mach 5 Audio is now offering a MJ18-PR. Are there more sizes to come? I dig the box Mark made with a IXL 15 and the MJ18-PR. Dreaming out loud. I'd like to build a box with 3 IXL 10's firing up and 3 rear firing 10" PR's for my stang. Hint, hint, make a 10" PR. Keep the excellent products coming.

Keep the excellent products coming.One problem I see with that would be you'd need 2x the swept volume for the PR's, which would mean six 10" PRs...besides, Seas already makes a 10" PR You could do it, but IMHO, it's impractical and not worth the extra expense over a traditional bass reflex for something like this...

For example. you could squeeze two IXL-10's per one MJ-PR provided you don't drive the subs too much below the tuning of the box.But Jim is right, the general rule for passives is about 2x the cone area/throw to each active driver.Best,Mark

Two tens rear firing and an 18" firing up. I might just have to take you up on that. I wouldn't have A PR up-firing because they tend to have a good deal of weight to them and would most likely cause the suspension to sag. My 1050g PRs sag is i even lay them on their back.Also in a car, I would think the PRs would have a lot of unwanted movement from the forces from turning and bumps in the road. Just my 2 cents
November 7, 200816 yr Excellent point on the car movement Todd. That never crossed my mind. A person would have to ensure the cabinet is sealed real tight to minimize such things.The weight thing is largely dependent on how strong/stiff your suspension is.
