Hate to break it to you chief... but you'll need to increase your budget if you want a screen.

$500 is enough to buy used or a cheapy brand (which will only lead to failure in the future).

Plan on around $700 for a quality unit.

Indeed, but they are even more expensive.

Cheaper ones that I find somewhat appealing are as follows

Alpine AVH-P5000DVD

Clarion VRX585USB

Kenwood KVT-719DVD

Another option is the Alpine IVA-D105, but you'll need the KCA-620M USB Adapter.

If you look around on E-bay, you can find the Pioneer AVH-P500DVD for a good price. I have been contemplating one of those for myself.

that pioneer has 2 sets of pre outs...
