Considering the currents involved aren't of gigantic values and the runs are pretty short.

8ga is fine, that's what I have seen in big amps from the relays to the output terminals.

i plan to run 8awg but i was just curios and there is no need for meade bashing i enjoyed his forum for as long asx i was on there

I am running 8awg to my 18"fi, I just took some 4 awg ring terminals and grinded them down so that they would fit in the holes then i took the wires and mashed them together in the terminal with a bench vice. It wasn't really professional, but it worked just fine.

You should be able to fit 8 GA. That is what I run with my subs.

Not sure what coils Steve runs on his subs, but assuming 4500 watts per sub, D1 coils would be at 48 amps, D2 would be at 34 amps. If you assume worst case D1 coils for resitance loss in the wire, you could see a 15-20 watt difference of actual power to the speaker between 8 ga and 4 ga.

I use 8gauge aswell to mine

haha you don't have to get every single damn strand in the terminal or use 4 gauge wire unless your going to have a 10 foot gap between your amp and sub. if you absolutly want to use the 4 gauge trim some copper strands off the end splice of the wire to make it fit, the electricity will spread to the trimmed copper once it's in the wire. but unless your determined to be more anal than the rest of this forum and myself you dont need the 4 gauge.

ohi dont plan on sunning 4awg i was just wondering i think 8 will do fine since the wire will be like a foot long my amp and sub are extremely close

if its that short even 8g is probably excessive

just for intrest sake while we are on the subject .. pushing 3000 RMS to 2 fi BL;s will 1.5 meter or so of 8guage be ok? planning to use threaded rod as terminals.
