i am kind of a newbie and i was think of getting an 18 ssd fully load with a 1800 watt kenwood amp wired to 1 ohm @ roughly 1000 watts RMS. in a 6 cu. Ft. box tuned to 26 hz. do you think it would be louder then 3 cheap 12's

The 18" SSD would be fine if you get it fully loaded. I'd tune quite a bit higher than 26hz though..

sounds like he listed 1800 peak. probably the kac 910d or what ever the 900rms amp is. its not a bad amp, my bro has one on a 15 l7. id run it at 2 ohms... unless your completely sure it will run at 1ohm...

if u dont have adequate space 2 12's might even be louder.

depends on install is my honest opinion. buddys 3 eclipse Ti 12s don't hit or sound as good as my single 15 Bl and they should should better in all honesty.

i doubt it can do rated power maybe like 800w. and with 6cu to work with an 18 is a little big id look into two decent 12's in 4 cu

i'd think the 18 would do better, but i'm a lil biased :D

get it in a big efficient box with losso port to compensate for the low power and i think it will do better. roughly the same cone so thats close, the deciding factor is space. if you can build 6-7cuft net then go 15 but if you have 4-5cuf to work with then go 12s

Ever considered a SAE1200d man? nasty little amp for the money.

when i wanted an SAE 1000D from dB-r they were always sold out

The Kenwood amp is not stable at 1 ohm...Its capable, but it is not stable. You can put it at two ohms and get roughly 900 rms at of it but it works as long as your not going for SQ, a different amp is suggested
