Last thing I would worry about in an sq system is the subwoofer. A crapload more work goes into the front stage..

If SQ is truly your goal, the Aura subs with underhung motors have less distortion than almost anything else you can buy.... The just cost almost $1000 for 15" The NRT 18 is a prosound woofer, but if you had room for an 8ft3 box, that would probably give you more low distortion bass with only a few hundred watts than you could get anywhere... Again, for about $1000 a pop....

Ive heard of rainbow componants.. are they really that good of a speaker?

As far as I know, sound quality refers to accurate reproduction of the WHOLE spectrum. Hhaving a good sounding sub + amp combo, a good head unit and stock front speakers doesn't mean you have an "SQ setup".

yes, subwoofers only play very little of the sound spectrum

not to mention that the install makes up a big part of this small percentage.

Dont forget the enclosure!

Since you are starting with subs, I severely doubt that an SQ system is what you want. If it was that would be the LAST thing you were worried about.
