well i am still trying to find the sub for me but i need some help.what would be louder?

ok i trying to decide between a Fi BL 18 or a Fi Q 18.

the BL would have these options:

dual 2ohm

cooling-yes

flatwind coil-yes

SPL or Daily-DAILY

Extreme lead-no

universisal-yes

Fi Q 18 options

dual 2ohm

BP power-yes

both would be in 6 Cu. Ft. tuned to 33Hz

the amp would be a hifonics Bxi1208D

the amp would be ran @ 1ohm and would be roughly putting out 1200 watts RMS

ok you know that if you choose extreme lead on the bl, you will only be able to use it for spl purposes right?

and the difference between the Q and the Bl is the Q is Fi's sq sub. the bl is more towards loudness, but still sounds pretty good.

For you, I'd get the BL.

i have this legacy amp that is only about 4 months old and it just lying around my house.

it says in the manual it will put out between 1000-2000 watts RMS @ 4-8 ohms briged.

now i no for a fact this amp is way over rated.

so lets say it was magical and did put out 2000 watts RMS would it hurt an 18 BL in any way?

well if i did run this amp it would only be for about a month until i get the hifonics.

well i dont know how much experience u have had with legacy but u dont think it would put out any were near that much would you?

Hell no, i have a legacy amp and not to be rude but it sucks.

my thinking is it will put out 2000 before it just completely blows up lol. i just did a quick google and from what i saw their not reliable nor put out near rated power. not from my mouth but from the couple websites i just searched

i know i got the amp for free and i know it sucks bad. u guys are completely right. but if IF i do run it then it will only be ran for 3 or 4 weeks until i can get some cash for the hifonics amp.

i dont think you should run it. it'll work, yes, but i think in the end, i think you WILL end up maxing the gain, turning on the bass boost, and clipping the hell out of it to make it "loud" while you wait for your other amp. all of this could leave you with an expensive mistake. run it IF you can resist the urge to run it to the ground. if not, just wait it out.

I wouldnt get the hifonics either, IMO you should just save a lil more money and get a SUNDOWN 1500 amp
