Posted February 13, 200520 yr well i did something stupid and i blew my 2 JL's v1 and blew my friend's kicker lol...getting a new sub soon and replacing my friend's sub..anywho, is there a way i can fix these subs? cuz i dont wanna just throw em away ya know any suggestions would be good

February 13, 200520 yr Take them to your JL dealer if available. Recone on a V1 W6 was $100 per. Well worth it IMO. If not, there are plenty of resources on the net for recones. Do you know exactly what the problem is?

Do you know exactly what the problem is?<{POST_SNAPBACK}>i dont know the EXACT problem but my friend hooked up a kicker with my 2 JL's and my amp couldn't hang so my subs kept getting clipped..and now the kicker doesnt even work at all and the JL's sound quiet and not loud as usual..
February 13, 200520 yr Do you have a multimeter? If so, get it out and we can walk you through the process of reading the coils so we can see if they are still okay. Could be a couple other problems as well. Perhaps the amp is damaged? We need some more info.

February 15, 200520 yr just take it into a local stereo shop and ask them to just throw a meter on it, i seriously doubt they would charge you for that
