Posted December 18, 200816 yr Well, yesterday i noticed the interior lights were doing funny tricks on the good ol' range rover. It's a '93 classic so it uses Lucas electric. OH BOY!So it usually starts and runs just fine, but the battery was drained, so I decide to charge it today.Go to start it, turns over a bunch, acts like its gonna start, but doesn't.So idk whats going on. The engine is going to come out anyways, its just the other electrical that is worrying me.The fuses are fine, just everything is behaving very strangely Edited December 18, 200816 yr by Dutchie.

December 18, 200816 yr did you check for spark? did you check the fuel rail and see it its getting plent of fuel pressure?
December 18, 200816 yr Author did you check for spark? did you check the fuel rail and see it its getting plent of fuel pressure?Didn't have much time to check things tonight. It could also be the points on the distributor.Tomorrow i'll probably have more time to do a thorough check.
December 18, 200816 yr Author its a 93 it does not have coil packs?Nope, it has air suspension.Battery is fine.Turned it over for about a half a second this morning and started fine.I don't know what the deal is.

December 18, 200816 yr I had a problem that sounded just like that. It turned out to be my crankshaft positioning sensor.
December 18, 200816 yr Author I had a problem that sounded just like that. It turned out to be my crankshaft positioning sensor.Yeah, but no worries the engine is getting replaced anyways, i just needed it to drive in and out of the paint booth. Now for the interior lights.
