I was going to get the alpine 9886, but I came across the amazing deal for boxing day,

Amazing Deal on HU

Has anyone had any experience from this particular HU? I havent come across 1 negative review on any site, other than Pioneer's grounding issue, im not to worried about that.

i have that HU, well its the premier model but its the same thing..... no complaints here, bought it onlinecarstereo, ordered the pioneer and they sent me out the premier ;) got it for around 175$

I have the 6000UB and the only problem with it is that there is no pause on the remote. There is a pause function, but it's burried in a menu. I have an older Pioneer remote that has a pause and it is compatable with this deck so it's all good. You can get the older style remote with pause off of ebay for really cheap so that's not an issue. I like the deck very well. The 7 band eq is a very nice addition, as well as the detailed crossovers for highs and sub. It also comes with the ipod cable, and no extra parts are necessary to use with an ipod. I did have to buy a 6 disc changer to use with it though. That is because the car is doing a 149.7 and skips the deck in the dash, so I got the changer and eliminated the problem. It controlls the changer right through the deck so it's very convient to have. I have never skipped the changer :)

Canadian I must add!!

Canada...eh

My eclipse HU doesnt have a pause haha

Have you tried them both, hands on? I did, and I didn't like the Pioneers at all, I preferred the Alpine style of layout and buttons etc.

same here but for the 9886 its $300 whereas this HU is $179, same functions, and settings etc.

Just picked it up today at 6 am, need a dash kit and few connectors and its going in!!

Nice I'm sure your gonna like it. Remember if you want a remote check out ebay for one of the older style remotes with the pause on them. I reccomend not using the bass at all in the settings, but rather using the 7 band eq to set the bass. All the bass setting will do is add distortion and probably send your amp into clipping.
