Posted December 31, 200816 yr what should i set the Sub sonic at if its a 15" FI BTL Ported at about 33Hz ive heard 23 and ive heard 33..and what the funk do i set the phase to? 0-180 degrees
December 31, 200816 yr Subsonic should be a few hz below box tuning so about 25-30.And idk about phase...
December 31, 200816 yr Author ive heard that phase should be at 0 unless the sub is reverse mounted...
December 31, 200816 yr Just play with the phase until it blends the best with your mids. I'd put the subsonic around 20.low pass filter setting depends on how well your sub can play the higher bass frequencies and how low your mids can go. Generally I like to keep it somewhere between 60 and 80.
January 2, 200916 yr Subsonic should be one octave below your tuning point. Low Pass filter will depend on where the sub can blend with your front stage. Leave the phasing at 0, or play with it like KU40 suggested.
January 2, 200916 yr So what exactly does the phase do?i would leave it at 0... easiest thing to do... but low pass filter should usally stay below 80hrz and subsonic i would throw it aroun 28hrz depending on how much power and how well your subs hand the lower bass below ur tunning frquency... just play around with them to you find a happy spot...
January 2, 200916 yr So what exactly does the phase do?changes the sound wave's timing. If you look at two sine waves on an o-scope and they are 180 degrees out of phase, they will cross the reference line at the same point, but one will be going up after that point and the other will be going down. The peak of one sine wave will correspond to the valley of the other sine wave. Waves that are 0 degrees out of phase will lie on top of each other. Then if you move up from 0 degrees, one sine wave will start drifting sideways from the other. They will cross the x-axis a little farther apart with each increase in phase shift. Then you hit 180 and they're total opposites. Then as you go higher, up to 360, they start moving back together again.Tried to explain that as simply as possible, hope the visual still got through.

Easier To Leave The SSF At 0, Or You Can Fack With It A Bit To Get Better Mixture.
