Posted January 2, 200916 yr i just got my pioneer back from repair, and on the RED wire for the power input there is a black barrel inside is a resistor... im guessing it it blow because i have power going into it.. but none coming out of it.... where can i get a replacement fast and what it is for? it is blue and it has color codes bans on it.... do you think radio shake has them!>
January 3, 200916 yr Author do i even need this thing?, i recall cutting a few off in my day and them being fine.
January 3, 200916 yr Author ok well igot drunk lastnight and got to tooling, i put a 1k resistor on it.. it still did not work... i got pissed off and quit... mike (95honda) called me from over seas to help me in this matter...... he remembered running the pionners with out them as i did.... so he gave me shit tons of advice, i did as he said.. and were smooth sailing now.... your the man mike thanks buddy!
January 10, 200916 yr Author as stated above... he recalled running prioneers after cuttin the resistor off.... he said that i should put an inline fuse onit about a half amp or so... i grounded the case, and it worked...
January 14, 200916 yr Author nah im a pretty good at holding my shit down.... the reason it was not working that night is only because it was a 1K resistor, at 1k hardly any voltage would make it to the other side... not even enough to dim a test light. the next day i found out my sorce for the reistor value was WRONG!... fuckin CA.
