Posted January 7, 200916 yr Hey guys ok my situation is this i have replace my stock battery with a kinetik 2400 and i also have a 800 my lights still dim badly i am running a hifoniks brutus bxi 2608 im running the full 2600 on 1 ohm on my cascade designs omega 15. Since i have a dodge charger my batterys are in the trunk only and the stock cable going to the battery form the alt is i believe 2 awg i forget. my alt is 140 amps. and the cable going batt to batt is 1/0 and the ground is 1/0. my idea is this i will mount another kinetik hc800 under my hood right by the alternator and run 1/0 to it from the alt +. then run 1/0 off the + of the battery to the 2 batteries in the trunk will this solve my horrible dimming? thnaks guys Billy Edited January 7, 200916 yr by The Storms
January 7, 200916 yr You should check all the "Big Three" wires. If there not 1/0g then change them to it. That may solve the problem . but you are drawing alot of current(at least 200 amps) exspecially using that hifonics amp. So the extra battery is probably needed anyways.
January 7, 200916 yr More like a new alternator is needed. You can't solve a current draw problem on new wires and batteries alone.

January 8, 200916 yr Yep np theres some other sites i know of that might have them but im not sure.Im pretty sure you can grab a HO alt from any engine thats from the same manufacturer IE - 5.7L ram engine into a 5.7L charger and it will work. You just might need to make a new bracket for it.

Unfortunately the vehicles ECU controls the alternator output and adjusts only for temperature. You can bolt a 300A alt on there but the computer will only allow it to pump out what the computer tells it to. Many companies have ALLEGEDLY come up with a solution....but I haven't been able to verify that. I've been searching for about a year now...lol If you figure something out, you let ME know.
