Aight. So I am looking over the course of the next year to find my dream sub. I'm not dissatisfied, I will just be upgrading.

Now I have been looking around and there are so many options, and there are so many subs I do not know about. Anyway... details...

-15" sub... budget of ~500-600 dollars

-NOT an SPL sub, but I want it to handle around 3000-3500 watts all day

-Fs under 30 hz (low resonance)

-Xmax of 25+mm (above average excursion)

-Good motor strength (average-above average)

-Good mech. handling (I'll put in as big a box as I can)

-It'll be ported for sure. Probably tuned around 28-30 hz.

Now a fully loaded BTL w/ everything is 470 shipped. I figured my budget is reasonable. Doesn't have to be new. I've been looking at the new SMD AA sub, but no specs or prices on it yet. My dream sub is the LMS ultra... but a little over my budget. I am even willing to get a old used motor and have something built for it, but I'd rather not for price and reconing reaons. I am just not as experienced with the millions of subs out there, and I'm sure someone can enlighten me. It'll go on a SAZ-3000 or RF T30001bd or similar. I listen to rap and I love low notes (low being about 25 and such). My system now peaks at 33hz and I love that.

PS-for informational purposes, I have a AA Havoc right now.

When are you thinking of purchasing? Jacob does have that new woofer in design. Maybe inquire about the XCON too.

Oh this is just for fun. Purchase will be made 1-1.5 years from now. Jacob's beast sub looks more oriented towards SPL than I am looking for, and do you think the Xcon will be able to handle 3000+ comfortable all day?

I dont know about it handling 3000 daily. if you know what you are doing im sure it could.

My first choice would be LMS Ultra, 2nd AA SMD. If you look hard enough, youll find and lms, might be $pendy, but you get what you pay for.... I really cant think of anything else that could take 3K all day, BTl's, sure... death penalty?

If the nightmare comes out... that could be a serious contender.

I agree joe... but I think thats not what he means... I really doubt anyone could sit in my car for an hour @ 3k, and not be sick as hell. Just be able to handle 3K, for showing off/comps and crap... right?

I think a AA SMD should fit your needs and price just fine. The nightmare, "clicky" you linked, should do the same or more...

but the lms is king...for spl/sq no way around it... imo

I cant say enough about my TC-3000's... not the loudest out there, but sound clean as hell.

if thats what you really want then save up a bit longer..

You never know what will be out in a year and a half

I was going to mention the TC 3000. I have a 15 and the SQ and output are amazing. I have yet to hear another that compares in both.
