so my dads cars alt went out, he bought a new one but it doesnt seem to fit it and now we have a spare brand new alt laying around and he said could have it. its only a 105 amp alt so i dont really want to replace it with my 120 amp alt but maybe someone rig it in with my stock one, would it like having a 225 amp alt? or would it not be worth my time to rig something to install it into my blazer

alts are not all the same...

if you can make a bracket you canrun a second alt.... but not all alts are the same... is it a 1 wire alt?

well you need to read about alts... even when doing the big three you dont replace all the wires...

some alts area multi wire.. 1-3 wires PLUS the output...

if you can get the alt to work with the regulator and all the other electrical crap down there, it will essentially add amperage backup to your overall system. there are many people who run stock alts with added on HO alts dedicated to just their system, but like jon said, you have to check compatibility with your existing electrical.

chit, its a $30 alt? i dunno if i would take the risk of fabricating all that bracketry up just to have it crap out, or not even put out 30 amps...
