Lets just say I'm building a ported box.

And the port is 6"x13" (Round port)

How far away should the end of the port be from any wall?

For example, the port is on the front wall.

How far does the end inside the box need to be from the back wall?

I think i remember it being 1/2 the diameter, but i could be wrong.

If anyone could help shed some light on this one, it would be a great help.

On Precision Ports website, their instructions link states that their 6" Precision Port can be 1" from the inside wall, but they recommend keeping it as far away as possible. Myself, I would try to keep it at least 3 to 6" away from it, but I'm no expert. I'm sure someone with more port experience will chime in.

The reason I'm asking is because its been forever since I've used round ports.

I need to same some space and a 6"x13" port only displaces ~0.2ft^3 for the tuning I want.

Everything else is just too big.
